The History of coneybeare honey

Coneybeare Honey is a third generation honey production and beekeeping operation that first started in 1925. We have 900 hives in Wellington, Dufferin, and Grey counties and the Southern Bruce Peninsula. Our main focus is on honey production and crop pollination. We can supply customer orders from 500g to filling barrels and totes for commercial orders. All of our honey is 100% natural, made by the bees.

Jim’s maternal grandfather began keeping bees in 1925 and found quick success as a commercial beekeeper. Jim began visiting bee yards with his mentor, his father Verne, when he was just three or four years old. He took over operation of Coneybeare honey in 1996. As a third generation beekeeper from a family with a strong history of beekeeping knowledge, Jim prioritizes the health of the colony and responsible management practices.

 Jim is actively involved in the beekeeping community and is a strong advocate for the future of beekeeping. Jim is a member of the Ontario Beekeepers’ Association board, he has been a director for more than 20 years, previously serving as the President of the OBA as well.
